Virtual Reality And Augmented Reality
Virtual Reality is a set of concepts and tools that try to
make us feel as if we are in a virtual universe. The basis of these concepts is
the new generation virtual reality glasses, as well as smartphones and tablets.
For now, the glasses in question only offer us the ability to show another
virtual reality, hear virtual sounds and move virtual objects. Augmented
reality, on the other hand, brings together the real world and the
computer-generated virtual world and enables us to interact with the digital
(virtual) world without breaking away from the real world. The first use of
such technologies was the helmet-mounted screens developed for fighter jet
pilots. In this way, pilots could access all critical information without
taking their eyes off the target.
DIFFERENCES:
1.
While virtual reality aims to provide an
experience completely isolated from real life, augmented reality aims to build
on real life and make it more interactive.
2.
In virtual reality, while living in the virtual
world by disconnecting from real life; in augmented reality, you still live in
the real world.
3.
You can use augmented reality applications as if
you would use a mobile application. However, virtual reality applications
definitely need equipment that will cover your entire field of view and control
what you hear.
4.
The environment you are in in virtual reality is
a completely recreated and simulated environment that does not exist in
reality. In augmented reality, on the other hand, virtual does not replace
reality, on the contrary, it complements it.
5.
With virtual reality, you can move around and
look up, down, sideways and back as if you were physically there. Augmented
reality, on the other hand, consists of placing an information layer containing
text or images on top of the real world in front of you that appears on your
phone's camera.
